I was surprised by some of the responses I got yesterday about my post. Everyone read into it thinking that I was unhappy, and that I had something toxic in my life. You guys, I AM HAPPY! They were just words I felt like writing yesterday. Some things don't have hidden messages. Sometimes thoughts are just simply that.. THOUGHTS! So for all of you that think I am depressed and unhappy, I am the happiest I have ever been, and I am loving every second of my life right now. Just sayin'!

I think people waste so much of their lives waiting for right moments. If it isn't today, maybe it will be tomorrow. One of these days I will be ready. One of these days things will happen. I am sorry, but I don't believe a word of it. I believe that if you want to do something you just have to go out and do it. There is no such thing as the "right" moment. The "right" moment is now, and if you don't take that leap of faith then you will always be stuck where you were yesterday.
The same thing goes for if you are a part of something, or have something toxic in your life. You all know what I mean by that. I don't think I need to explain it. There is never going to be a "right" time to end it. If things are bad they will only get worse. A bad thing rarely turns into a good one. Stop pretending that things will get better, and be BRAVE. Be the one to let go. Know when something is no longer a good thing, and remove it from your life. It just isn't worth it, and if we all spend so much of our time waiting for the "right" moment anyway.. by the time you think it might be the time the moment will have already passed. Then the cycle starts all over again.
So lets just own our own lives, and do things in the now. There is no such thing as the perfect time. YOU make it the perfect time.

But like seriously though, is there anything better than summer?? I always think that fall or spring are my favorite times of the year, but somehow it's summer I am always craving. I think with summer there comes a sense of freedom. The freedom of time to stay out late with friends, walking the streets or hanging at the park. The freedom to be outside in the night time with the warm air and cool breeze. The freedom of a new season and a new story.
I feel like summer has already started off great! Days and nights (mostly nights) spent walking around with friends, playing tennis (even though you don't know how to), kicking a soccer ball around, deep conversations, farmers markets, flirting, going to outdoor concerts, meeting new people, skateboarding, swinging, witnessing drug deals (for real, it happened), driving with the windows down, blasting music, juggling (but not really), playing with exercise balls, riding bikes that or too small (or big), ice cream, pool days... the list goes on!
I JUST LOVE SUMMER!
I will try a lot harder to take some pictures of my summer shenanigans. But I'm telling you know... I have a good feeling about this summer. I think it is going to be a summer to remember.
Now I will leave you with some pretty summer-like photos that are not mine, because I have zero so yeah...
What are some of your favorite summer time traditions/activities/shenanigans??
Love of the Morning
Monday, June 10, 2013
So about a month ago I took a couple pictures to capture the morning light. I don't know about you, but I don't know if there is something more spectacular than morning light. I think I am a morning person. I love feeling like I am the only one awake. Like I am the only one up and thinking, and I get to watch the rest of the world wake up. I don't know what it is, but it is the only part of the day when my mind isn't going a million miles an hour. I think it's because I feel like everyone is still asleep, so I don't feel like I have to start worrying about everything until everyone else is awake and worrying..
I know these are completely random, but figured I would share them anyway! What is your favorite time of the day? Do I have any early risers here??

I think a lot of women have struggles with this, myself included. We let rude stares, comments, and attitudes control so much of what we do. I know I say this often, but who cares? This kind of stuff has just been on my mind a lot lately. Like I have said before, I am so tired of letting people who do nothing for me control so much of who I am. That is so backwards!
I think people in general need to just be nicer to each other. Like seriously people, girls especially, are so rude to each other! What the heck? When did this become ok? I can't even tell you how many times I have gone out to dinner with friends, to a concert, or just wandering around downtown and had girls look me up and down. Not in the good way either. Do you know what look I am talking about? The one that is like, "Ew" or "Are you serious?" Does that even make sense?! Here is something I have to say to all you people that give those awful, degrading, straight up mean stares... What are you looking at? Yeah, I know I am different. I have short hair, fair skin, and some curves. I dress weird, and sometimes wear glasses that are too big for my face. Sometimes I wear red lipstick just because I can, you can always find me with some kind of a denim jacket or vest, and sometimes my hair sticks up in weird places. I don't have a perfect complexion, and sometimes I dance around in public. But you know what? That is what makes me, me. That is what makes me beautiful.
Everyone has imperfections, so why are we wasting our time pointing them out? I think we all fall into that trap of comparing ourselves to others, and finding things we don't like about each other. You guys, beauty (whatever that even means) is not a contest. It is not a contest because we are all freaking beautiful! Like for real, every last one of us. I am going to stop now for fear of becoming cheesy, but I am just so tired of letting people's nasty stares get to me. Some people may think, "Well, maybe there is something you need to change if you are getting stares like that." but I will NEVER change. I am me, got it? I am happy with who I am, and I don't believe in changing just so I can be part of the norm. Whatever that even is..
Ladies, just be happy with yourself. For those of you who don't think you are beautiful, here I am screaming YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! You always have been, and you always will. So take a look in the mirror and realize it already.

A few days ago I was reading over at The Secret Life of Bee when she shared the most wonderful quote. So here I am sharing it, because it is beautiful in every single way possible.
"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be, and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles."
-Anne Frank
Can I get an amen?

I Think...
Tuesday, March 19, 2013
Like I literally got a piece of lined paper and a clip board, sat down in a comfy chair, and wrote a list of all the things that I HAD to do. I only wrote down the things that were absolutely necessary, and that had to be completed. You know what I found out? I really didn't have that much that I had to do. Hallelujah! Who knew all it took was making a simple list.
After I made my (short) list of things I HAD to do, I decided to make another list of all the things I should do that make me happy. Lately I have been in a huge rut. It kind of all came on at once. Like for real, the last two weeks I have been in a fashion, hair, health, creative inspiration rut. It has basically been miserable, so I decided to make a list of all the things that make me happy and to plan to do those things more. I took each thing I have been stressed about and figured out how to make it better. After I did that I wrote down some of my life mottos. Some of these include:
"If things are meant to happen, the will."
"Just be you. It doesn't matter what people think."
"Being creative and expressing your creativity is NEVER a bad thing, and don't ever let people make you feel like it is."
I know all of this seems kind of silly, but you know what? It helped so much. Taking the time to actually sit down for .2 seconds, and actually take the time to think things through does wonders for your worries. For me it is a list, but for someone else it could be going for a long walk. Or maybe it's listening to your favorite music. We are all inspired by different things, and we all have different situations. So if any of you lovelies out there are having a hard time or feel like you are in a rut, just take a little time for yourself to work things out. I wish I would have done this weeks ago!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
xoxo
I Knew You Were Trouble
Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Alright everyone, confession time. I really do just love Taylor Swift. I just can't help myself ok?! Yes, I think she sucks at relationships. Like BIG TIME, but I just can't help but love her anyway. When I saw her new music video I about died. You guys, I love it! I love how it was filmed, and I think she looks fantastic. She did such a good job in this! I am a BIG fan of rocker T-Swift. Like I want her hair in this more than anything really. So here you go. Enjoy!
I'm sorry I had to do it. This has basically had me laughing for days!
Random side note: So you know how I have been doing the whole College Street Style thing? Well truth is, I have become a little uninspired with it all. I might do a few here and there, but I have thought of something better to fill its place. Ready for it.. Concert Style! Yeah, you heard me. Considering that is basically all I do anyway. Might as well take some photos of the inspiring fashion I see on pretty much a weekly basis. So be looking out for that. I am stoked!

Things That Caught My Eye

- Basically, this is what I wear now. So I want all these items very VERY badly. I just love the simplicity (via Tumblr)
- This photo just has me itchin' for summer and Europe! (via Pinterest)
- This quote really caught my eye this week. Couldn't agree more. (via Pinterest)
- This guy.. his style is too perfect. (via Tumblr)
- And this guy... where can I find one? (via Tumblr)
- I will die if my kids are this cool one day. (via Esperanza Moya)
- This quote had me teary-eyed by the time I was done reading it. As most of you know, one of my best friends is serving an LDS mission and she left this Wednesday. What does this mean? I won't see her for a year and a half. I found this the day before she left, and sent it too her. I couldn't be more thrilled with this. It is basically my thoughts about our friendship explained perfectly. (via Pinterest)
Also, this baked french toast recipe has my mouth watering.
I have been obsessed with the idea with having fresh cut flowers lately, so this post just put me over the moon.
This week has been insanely busy I feel like. Lots of tests to study for, and I spend the beginning part of my week squeezing in as much time as I could with Emily before she left. This week has just been an interesting one. I am looking forward to the weekend though. Let's just say it will involve sleepovers, Perks of Being a Wallflower, waffles, concerts, and spending time with people I haven't seen in a while. Stoked doesn't even begin to cover it.
