Name: Alyse
Major: Ballet
What do you like to wear?
"I like to be comfortable. It depends on the day. Leggings are my best
friend, but I also love skirts and dresses. I dress very casual most of
the time just because I have to change so much because of dance, but I love dark and neutral colors, and I love big clothes. Nothing tight."
What or who inspires your style?
"Well, I wish I had a real style, but I don't have the time or money to. The way I wish I dressed sadly has a lot to do with Pinterest. But honestly I would die to have my Pinterest closet in real life. And of course my friends influence me a lot."
Thanks so much Alyse! I have always admired your style, and I see nothing wrong with being influenced by things like Pinterest. Am I right ladies?? Your style is just flawless, and you always look fantastic, so keep doing what you are doing!

College Street Style: Kristie
Saturday, February 2, 2013
Name: Kristie
Major: English
What is your favorite thing to wear?
"I have probably ten different white v-neck tees, so I'm going to have to
go with that. They are a great base for any number of looks for me."
Who or what inspires your style?
"Probably Moorea Seal. She has such a great casual/comfortable/quirky thing going on."
I had a lot of fun shooting and talking to Kristie. You want to know why? Because she is a fellow blogger! Whoo! Go check out her blog The Resolution. You won't be sorry.
Kristie is actually in my digital photography class. I was stressing out about getting pictures for this post when Kristie walked in with the most amazing bag on the planet! Not only does it function as a day-to-day bag, but it is also a camera bag! Let's just say I had a little freak out when this information was expressed to me. I will take two please.
This weekend isn't exactly going as planned, but I am choosing to stay positive and just go with it. I am welcoming the changes. Last night I got to have a much needed dinner and drive with my mama. Sometimes a good talk with your mom is all you need. I know it made me feel a lot better! To make it even better we might have splurged on some frozen yogurt. If a talk with your mom can't cure your worries, frozen yogurt sure can.
So here is to hoping that today is a better day. I already know it will be. I get to go to a concert tonight!! Remember to take a breather every once in a while. I know we all get caught up in the stress of the moment. Sometimes all we need is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the little things. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday, and that everyone stuffs themselves tomorrow with delicious food! Superbowl anyone?
College Street Style: Anna
Saturday, January 19, 2013
Spring semester has started which means College Street Style is back on! This week I met with the lovely Anna from Anna Apricot.
Name: Anna
Major: Health, Society, and Policy
What is your favorite thing to wear?
"My favorite thing to wear is a button up shirt with jeans. It is comfortable but doesn't look too sloppy."
Who or what inspires your style?
"I don't think there is one person that inspires me. I love to see what celebs are wearing like Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone, but I also love reading blogs and seeing what real people are wearing. I think it is all about finding something you feel good about and wearing it proudly."
I had a lot of fun taking pictures of Anna. She is pretty much the most hilarious person on the planet. If you read her blog you will know what I mean, so definitely check it out! Also, I absolutely loved this outfit. Those boots are fantastic, and I am such a fan of the peter pan color.
Thanks Anna!
Thanks Anna!
Well it's a Saturday night, and I am still trying to figure out what I am doing. There is a possibility of driving down to Provo to visit some friends and maybe go to The Moth & the Flame concert. I wish I was up at Sundance celeb stalking, or something fun like that. Maybe sometime this coming week! We will see.
Random side note before I go. I had a dream last night that my hair was blonde again. I liked it. I am going back to blonde. Just thought I would share.
Hope everyone is doing something fun for the long weekend! I'm hoping to guilt a friend or two into going on a hike, and exploring some book stores. We will see how that goes.
Happy Saturday!
College Street Style: Kramer
Tuesday, December 11, 2012
So remember how last week I said that I had only done girls so far, but that I had it covered. This is what I meant by that. This is Kramer everyone. So remember that band The North Valley that I may have seen once or twice... Well he is the pianist. How awesome is that!
Name: Kramer
Major: Biomedical Engineering (possible double major in philosophy... I think)
What do you like to wear?
"Skinny jeans mostly. Lots of blacks, browns, and toned down earth color. I basically wear this same leather jacket everyday, and I wear a lot of cardigans."
Who or what inspires your style?
"Probably bands, actually. Not music wise, but style wise like The Strokes or The Black Keys. You know like lots of city looking stuff, but then every once in a while I'll wear like a flannel."
Isn't his style freaking awesome you guys? Another reason I like these North Valley guys. Their style is fantastic if you couldn't tell by Kramer alone. Just sayin'. A big thanks to Kramer for being the first guy on here, and for being willing to meet with pretty much a complete stranger! I had the most wonderful time getting to talk to you, and I will see you and the other guys at your next show. Not like I go to all of them or anything... because that would be weird. Oops.
Finals are officially OVER for me. I am so happy I could probably cry. To celebrate, I have some awesome concerts I plan on going to later this week. Any Eli Whitney or Officer Jenny fans out there? I sure hope so, because that would just be sad. Also, it is my birthday this weekend! Whoo! I have no clue what I am going to do, but hopefully there will be some awesome shows once the weekend rolls around. Wouldn't want to spend my birthday any other way.
I think it is time to post more Instagram photos. I am only doing this because I have failed to tell you about my weekend, and this will help me remember. Yeah...
- Let's just say the stress of finals was getting to me.
- My friend Kelly got married! Still not sure how I feel about people my age getting married, but it was kind of the cutest wedding ever. She had a milk and cookie bar. Uh, yes please!
- Thank you Blue Star for being the only source of energy I had all week.
- What I have to look forward to this lovely Christmas break! And there is more on the way!
- This is what I do when I get bored at work... play with army men.
- Oh yeah. I changed my hair. It is brown now.
- I might have gone to see The North Valley again this weekend... Don't judge me!
Have a lovely Tuesday everyone!
P.s- This will be the last College Street Style post for the year. Sad day I know. I will try to come up with something else for the next little while. Maybe some style posts on myself... I make not promises!
College Street Style: Sara
Tuesday, December 4, 2012
So I was lucky enough to meet with the lovely Sara for this weeks college street style photo extravaganza. It seriously was so fantastic. We only met for a couple minutes, but Sara is for real one of my favorite humans. She is just hilarious. I think you will be able to tell that from the photos. Here is the lovely Sara.
Name: Sara
Major: Journalism with a Minor in Film and Media Arts
What do you like to wear?
"I like to wear skirts, dresses, and colorful tights."
What or who inspires your style?
"My inspiration is the old days when ladies were ladies, and I try to stand by that lifestyle. I only wear jeans on bad days. I couldn't care less about name brands. The cheaper it is, the more stoked I am to wear it. Otherwise I get nervous it will get ruined, and it sits in my closet. Except my Steve Madden boots. Best hundred bucks I ever spent."
Taking pictures of Sara was by far the most fun I have had since starting this. She was the only one that just went crazy, and it turned out brilliant. I also found my favorite spot on campus for pictures! Whoo!! I have realized that I have only had girls do this post, but don't you worry! I have got it covered.
This week has pretty much been insane so far, and it is only Tuesday. I am seriously going crazy. I feel like my brain has completely turned to mush. There is soo much to do! I just need to get through this week, and then life will be better again. Finals suck. I need to do some yoga. At least I have a fun weekend planned. Of course the definition of a fun weekend in my book includes CONCERTS! Heck yeah! I took a little break from my concert going last weekend, so I am ready to get back into the swing of things.
I am FINALLY getting a haircut this weekend, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It is seriously time. My hair is beyond crazy right now. I have got a "natural" ombre going on right now, and lets just say it isn't pretty. This appointment is much needed. I am seriously losing my mind over this dang hair. I don't really know what to do with it. It is at one of those awkward stages currently. It will almost be fixed!
Well happy studying to all of you that still have finals just around the corner. For those of you who don't have finals... you suck.
Happy Tuesday.
College Street Style: RexAnn
Tuesday, November 27, 2012
I am apologizing for the quality of these photos in advance. I had to use my VERY old little pink digital camera. I seriously have had this thing since like 7th grade. It is not even a camera. But I had to get this done, so everyone meet the wonderful RexAnn.
Name: RexAnn
Major: Nursing
What do you like to wear?
"Boots, sweaters, fun colors, and funky patterns!"
Thank you RexAnn for willing to do this even though I had a sucky camera, and because I made you sit outside in the cold while I told you about my crazy weekend! You are a trooper! P.s- I am thinking that Blue Star Chai Lattes should be a weekly tradition! Just saying.
I am proud to announce that awkward moments are at a stand still for me! This is such a joyous thing. I will treasure every second of it.
So my friend RexAnn (pictured above) has got me hooked on freaking Snap Chat. Who knew taking awful pictures and adding captions to them could be so much fun! I think the main reason I love it is because the majority of my friends don't live in SLC. This is a fun way to see what they are doing, and to see their face.
Well that is all for today. Happy Tuesday everyone!
College Street Style: Jenna
Tuesday, November 20, 2012
I have noticed that just by the two sets of pictures I have taken for this post, you can see just how bipolar Utah's weather is. I honestly just don't understand. Anyways, everyone meet the lovely Jenna.
Name: Jenna
Major: Environmental Studies and Political Science
What do you like to wear?
"I like to wear contrasting colors, leggings, and flannels. All at the same time is preferred. And flats! I am not a big fan of boots."
I don't know about you, but I pretty much just died over this outfit. So fantastic. I love the pop of color the scarf gives. Plus, her hair is absolutely fantastic! This outfit just makes me happy. Thanks Jenna!
For the first time in three weeks, I am not planning on attending any concerts. It is kind of sad. I feel like it has become a weekend tradition. There are some concerts that I really want to go to this weekend (aka Desert Noises and Joe Brooks), but I just do not have the money OR the gas to attend them. It is quite sad. I don't really know what to do with myself. I am looking forward to having a nice break from school and work this week. I am just planning on hanging out at home, and spending time with my family. I figure I need to just sit and relax as much as I can before finals come up. They are just around the corner, and I am already stressing. I seriously just hate tests. Hopefully I can get through it.
The only class I am really worried about is my solar systems class. I swear this class is impossible! I just don't understand it at all. It needs to be done. Bianca and I both need to find smart people in the class, and make them teach us the ways of the universe. We just don't get it, and it sucks.
I guess I am also worried about math, but I feel like I don't have to bring up that one. Of course I am worried about math! I freaking hate math, and don't know how I have made it this far without just falling over on the sidewalk and crying. Anyone good at math? I could use all the help I could get.
Well I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday, and has exciting plans for Thanksgiving!
College Street Style: Emily
Tuesday, November 13, 2012
Alrighty, so it is nice and freezing here in Utah. Because of this, there are a lot less people riding bikes. I am going to switch over to college street style for a while. I hope you are all ok with this. So here is to my first college street style post!
Name: Emily
Major: French
What do you like to wear?
"I like wearing dresses, and things that remind me of the forties."
Thank you Emily for letting me take photos of your adorable outfit! Thankfully, Emily is a very good friend of mine, so it wasn't that awkward. Yay for things not being awkward! Haha Don't you just love those red rain boots? I seriously just die over them every time I see them!
I have decided I really want to be in a band. Like really bad you guys. There is just one small problem... I have not musical talent. Like none whatsoever! I am pretty sure I wouldn't even be able to play the tambourine. This proves to be a problem, because how fun would it be to be in a band?? I will tell you. A freaking ton of fun! I already go to enough concerts. Might as well be doing something rather than just standing there. Maybe I could be a back up dancer or something! Oh wait, I can't dance... I think this is a lost cause. I will just have to enjoy concerts from the sidelines. Darn it!
As I was getting dressed today, I realized that I pretty much put on the exact outfit I wore for Halloween. What is the problem with this you might ask? Well as many of you know, I was Dr. Spencer Reid for Halloween aka a boy. Oops. Did I change after I realized this? Absolutely not.
Another thing I believe I have mentioned is that I usually take the bus to school every day. I actually enjoy taking the bus. It gives me a half hour to just relax, and listen to music. It is pretty fantastic, but using public transportation has it's.... set backs. Here is today's example. For some reason a man who I am pretty sure had just smoked an entire pack of cigarettes decided to sit right in front of me. I am sorry, but I really just don't like the smell of cigarette smoke. I don't care if people choose to smoke. That is 100% their choice. I do find it kind of disgusting, but that is just my opinion. Anyways, I guess you could say I was not to thrilled, but I dealt with it. So there I was, dealing with the smoke of death smell, when on walks a human with body odor that over powered the smell of the death smoke. I am not joking you guys. It was pretty awful. These are the days where I greatly regret taking public transportation. The bus smells.
My only other random thought for today is I have decided I really like the names Finley and Finner. I don't really know how I came to this conclusion. It just happened I guess. It might have to do with the fact that I keep hearing the name Fin, and I am constantly listening to the song "From Finner" by Of Monsters & Men. Those are just assumptions though. Who really knows.. haha
Well I hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday.
College Street Style

So I thought I was stoked about starting a new blog, but I have found something I am even more stoked about! Three words.
College. Street. Style.
Yeah, you heard me. Ok, so many of you are probably wondering what the heck I am even talking about, so I will go ahead and explain now.
It all started with this blog post by Introvert's Introduction. Pretty much what I will be doing is documenting the different styles students wear on any campus I happen to be on! I am really excited about this you guys! I think it mostly has to do with the fact that it scares that crap out of me. I am not a forward person, and this is WAY out of my comfort zone. I just want to get out of it though. I am sick of feeling like I am stuck inside some kind of a shell. I am ready pretty much just not care, and put myself in what will most likely be awkward situations. I am so stoked!
To put my own little twist on things I am going to try to do a bike feature at least once a week. This will be someone with good style and riding their bike around campus! Since winter is just around the corner this might have to change to a once-a-month thing, but either way it's happening.
I hope this works out! I am going to do everything in my power to make it happen. Wish me luck! I am going to need it.

No, I am not watching (500) Days of Summer right now... that was a lie.
